After instability, Google Maps reactivates speed feature

For many people, Google Maps has become an extremely necessary application to be used on a daily basis. Last year, a feature was implemented in the tool that warns the user about the maximum speed allowed on the road. Although highly praised, the indicator experienced some instability during the updates. However, it appears that the tool appears to be available again to the public.

Since its launch in May 2019, the feature has gone through ups and downs and has even disappeared from the app for a certain period. However, according to the “Android Police” website, the feature has appeared again. However, it should not be a source of much joy to users. Due to the instability of the app, it is still possible that the warning will disappear again in future updates.

The great difficulty that Google finds to keep the resource stable is that local governments constantly change traffic measures for a number of reasons. At the moment only users from Denmark, Holland, Scotland, India, France and Ireland have noticed the return of the feature. This indicates that Google is coming back with the feature little by little.

Recent updates

On its 15th birthday last month, Google Maps released several changes to its operating system. In addition to the icon change, a major change was the “For you” tab in the footer, which was replaced by three others: Contribute, Updates and Saved. The aim is to encourage user contributions, as well as the ability to follow specific users.

This month another great feature will be added to the app. Now it will be possible to share information about public transport, including informing if the train or bus is too full, if there is a wagon exclusively for women or accessibility for wheelchair users. The update will be available soon on Android and iOS smartphones.
