Xiaomi may launch smart mask soon

Xiaomi is known here in Brazil for its smartphones with advanced technologies. However, it has been showing that this will not be the only niche that intends to invest in the future. In 2019 the Chinese company launched its first vehicle. However, a patent has revealed that the brand may be working on an intelligent mask capable of collecting data in real time.

Recently "Abacus" reported that the mask will be able to measure up to the percentage of pollution that the person has absorbed. The measurement will be counted from the time of wearing the mask.

How it works:

The mask runs on a battery that keeps the system running. In addition, it will be allowed to transmit data collected via bluetooth, infrared or NFC. Another factor is that the mask will be able to analyze the ambient air, determining its quality. Thus, it will be extremely important in countries like China itself, which has serious cases of pollution.

Used in the Coronavirus crisis

Lately, a lot of news has surfaced about the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) epidemic. Even because of the virus, there was a lack of masks in regions of China and Asia. Amongst all, the mask would also be used to help both health professionals and normal citizens to move between risk areas. Another feature that makes the mask even more interesting, is that it would be able to obtain data about viruses and even how diseases spread through the air.

Everything indicates that the development process would already be at an advanced stage, since the product design was filed in June 2016. However, Xiaomi has reason to think that there would be a high demand for the mask. Many factories are currently closed (due to the virus), but burning coal and other industrial activities are covering Beijing and making the air increasingly polluted and breathable.
