Nubank starts allowing cell phone recharge via credit card

Nubank recently announced that its customers will be able to recharge prepaid cell phones via credit card directly from the app. The function was released on Thursday (5). However, since last year, recharging was only allowed if there was a balance available in the account. Now, the digital bank will start testing the new method using the available credit card limit.

According to the startup, the option is not available to all users due to testing. It was not disclosed how they were chosen, nor the percentage of how many users will be able to use the new update. In addition, there is no provision for release of the function for all of its customers. The transaction is completely digital and the recharge amount will be charged to the open invoice. Operators such as Vivo, Claro, Tim, Oi, Nextel and Correios Celular are participating in the novelty.

How it works:

In the new application update, an icon was placed with the option “cell phone recharge” at the bottom of the interface. There, the customer enters the number they want to top up, the name of the operator and the desired value. Soon after, the options for payment methods, credit or debit will appear and at the end, enter the card password. Anyway, if the option “credit” is chosen, the amount used will appear on the next invoice. Recharging can happen in up to 24 hours, but it usually happens immediately.
