Artificial intelligence: Prototype is created to present TV program

The news reporter's virtual reporter is able to make comments
without any scripting, editing or human production.
On February 7, in partnership with the London start-up Synthesia, the
Reuters news agency announced its first prototype oriented
by artificial intelligence. In this way, totally independent, the virtual reporter does not
needs human interference to present the sports program.

Understand how it works:

The innovative system consists of aggregating pre-recorded images from a
human journalist or unpublished news. This technique is similar to
employ in deepfake videos for example, where AI recognizes
expressions and movements from a database with images
that show various angles of the person’s face. The presenter in
question recorded speeches about the Premier League, English Premier League
soccer.

The prototype will only be used to report news of football matches:

In an official statement, Reuters made it clear that this prototype is
only a “proof of concept” and for now it will only be used to
report news of football matches.
It seems that the innovations do not stop there: “Although the project
is still a prototype, we are really excited to explore
new ways to use images, reports and data feeds in real time
real to fuel new types of news driven experiences
for AI, ”said Nick Cohen, Reuters news chief, in an interview with
Forbes magazine.
